Engelbert Wrobel's Swing Society

After a few changes in personnel, the line-up of Chris Hopkins (p), Rolf Marx (g), Ingmar Heller (b) and Oliver Mewes (d) crystallized, forming one of the most outstanding swing bands in Europe for over twenty years. The band performed regularly with the legendary Swiss musician and entertainer Hazy Osterwald for more than seven years, and together they were featured at numerous festivals, in clubs and concert halls. The Swing Society has released a total of eight CDs, including two with Hazy Osterwald, two with American trombonist and trumpeter Dan Barrett, and one with German jazz singer Silvia Droste.

Currently, the group reconvenes on special occasions and sometimes features guest musicians.
